A note from Joshua
With the US Open here, I spent part of this week chatting with Ralph AI in the Ralph Lauren app about a fit I could wear from the office to the Open. Its options left me wanting more, so I decided to build one myself.
The assignment was admittedly unreasonable: something that could work for morning court time, look respectable at the office, and still feel right at a night session. These three pieces get surprisingly close. Between the ticket and the bag, the whole thing may be more aspirational than functional. Still, a guy can dream.

The Park Tennis Take
Bennett Winch Sport Holdall
The olive Sport Holdall is handmade in London with twin racquet pockets, a 16-inch laptop sleeve, and a removable waterproof shoe pouch.
This is the bag the day requires and the budget absolutely does not. It keeps racquets away from the laptop, shoes away from everything else, and still looks composed enough for the office. You will have to check it outside the Open because racquets are prohibited, but at least yours will be waiting tastefully in case Serena, Coco, Taylor, or Novak suddenly needs a hitting partner.

Also worth bringing
Two more for the office-to-Open day.

J. Press Green Tennis Racquets Club Tie
Skull-and-crossbones ties were big, critter ties had their moment, but a handsewn silk racquet tie in September says you keep to the classics without disappearing into them.

Wilson Cable Westport Cardigan
It is summer in New York, so you probably will not need a cable-knit cardigan during the match. But it earns its place on the brisk morning walk to the court and again on the 2 a.m. walk back to the train. Why not have it? A cardigan is rarely a bad idea.

One question before you go
What is your office-to-the-Open uniform?
Hit reply and tell me the one piece that makes the transition work.
Reply to Joshua
That’s enough gear for one Sunday. See you at the courts, Joshua
